Origami Hagley ride: 10-11-07
They knew it was time to go when I arrived, 10 minutes late, as usual.
Paul led the 15 riders into
some glorious winter countryside.
The hills did lead to some
waiting for Godot moments,
But arriving at the Severn Valley Railway station at Kidderminster
for lunch made it worthwhile. We had a long table to ourselves for
a relaxed chat and meal.
An interesting ride back through some private roads. We were all
coached to say we were "visiting our father", (must have been a big
family!) in the rest home at the end of the route, just in case we
were challenged by a farmer with a shotgun.
We had been warned "The route has many small hills but is all tarmaced." Tarmaced yes, small hills NO. On the way back all of us except one paragon traipsed up the "smallest" hill. On getting home, tried to congratulate myself on a good days exercise while soaking in the bath for an hour but couldn't really pull off the Polly-Anna feat.
Excellent day, enjoyed by all.
Thanks Paul.
