Fruit & organic ale festival,
The White Swan, Solihull, 14/11/07
JLG led us along Sustrans
5 to the city to join the Grand Union Canal. Unfortunately this
degenerated to a dirt rut which was a hard task for Nigel on a
fixie with narrow wheels. So we rejoined the roads and got to
Solihull on tarmac.
While locking up the bikes we wondered whether they would let anyone over 20 in.
Inside was reasonably quiet so we parked on two couches and enjoyed the real ale. One young gentleman explained how he'd lost his front teeth in a fight & demoed the gap.
Very pleasant social evening.
Trip back: very cold. Oddly, on the hills, felt as though the sweat was freezing as it ran down!
