Wed 4/8/10: Sutton Coldfield
I'm really rather glad that Val wimped out and brought me back from Sutton Park on the train. And I still got the short cycle home from New Street at midnight. There is lots of interesting wildlife to see at that time of night.
Not as exciting as all the rabbits and herons we saw as we cycled to Sutton Park at dusk. We even saw a lovely sunset across the broad view we had as we crossed the park to the pub. I get a good view from Val's back. Even if it is too often of David making sure no-one is getting left behind.
I'm Shaun the Sheep and I have not been out on a Wednesday evening cycle for a while - all Val's fault. I apparently missed a wonderful pub in Netherton a few weeks ago. The pub last night had Pedigree which I like but it lacked the atmosphere of pubs like the one in Netherton- Sutton can't do things like the Black Country can!
But they all entertained me anyway, at the pub and along the route. From the Mac we cycled to join the canal in Digbeth and followed that to Spaghetti Junction. Simon set off at a good medium pace and there are only canal bridges and such like to negotiate until we set off across country and uphill to Sutton. It was not really too bad an uphill.....but Val much prefers the flat. However we wouldn't get such great scenery without a few uphills.
Another great evening out with Pushbikes. May I get many more before its dark in the evenings again.
