Clean Air Day

Air pollution seen over Birmingham

Today is Clean Air Day. Did you know more than 70% of the air pollution we breathe in the UK is produced by road traffic? Walking, wheeling, and cycling journeys wherever possible will directly impact that figure. Many of you will know that in fact many, if not most, journeys can be made using active travel, especially where the infrastructure facilitates active travel.

Fellow campaigners Living Streets have organised a petition calling for more ambition from the government for cleaner air. I have just completed that petition with reference to Push Bikes and the role that active travel can play, but the more people who respond the better. Do please take a few minutes to send in your own contribution.

Push Bikes continues to monitor air quality in Birmingham as part of the Sensor Community.
