Edinburgh Street Scene
People in Edinburgh want to cycle. Ordinary people, not just MAMILs, hipsters, and urban road warriors. Their city council still hasn't got the message, and allows motor traffic access to almost every part of the city centre, resulting in a highly unpleasant environment and many people being knocked off their bikes by motorists. This is the junction of Chambers Street and the A7. It's very close to the Edinburgh Law School (which is housed in one of the oldest university buildings), the National Museum of Scotland, and the Royal Mile, yet Chamber's Street is a four lane road with parking along the middle, and the A7 is a trunk road. No civilised council would allow this state of affairs. Even Birmingham is better than this.
