Old Style German Demand Button
This conventional German demand button (also used in other continental European countries) has so many good features. The button on the front face is large and easily operated, so it's not a problem to operate it if wearing gloves, or a disability makes pressing a recessed button difficult. On top there is a plate that vibrates when the lights are on green for active travel, and a raised arrow indicating the direction of travel. The light confirms the button press. There is also a grab ring for use by people on bikes or anyone who is just unsteady on their feet. In later units the entire box has been made touch sensitive in a way that is close enough to the original not to cause confusion (https://www.imago-images.com/st/0110048470).
